Van B. Miller, President
Started Furniture Management Solutions, Inc. on January 1, 1996 seeing the need for an independent source for
space planning, furniture specification and project management.
Beginning in the industry in 1985, Van worked with RDA Design Associates and was one of the first users of a P.C.
based CAD system in the Atlanta area. Responsibilities included specification and layout of systems furniture for
Hayes Microcomputer Corp Headquarters and eight satellite locations including London, San Francisco and
In 1989 Van joined Graphic Systems, Inc., a Norcross based Furniture dealership and was project manager/designer
for four plus years.
In February of 1994, he joined Corporate Environments, a Knoll Dealership. His first assignment was to implement
specifications and project manage the installation of a 13 Million dollar Knoll Morrison project for the United Parcel
Service Headquarters in Sandy Springs, Georgia. Following the UPS project, Van was promoted to Technical
Services Manager at Corporate Environments. He was responsible for a staff of eight designers/project managers.
Some of the clients serviced during his tenure include Turner Broadcasting, Georgia Pacific Corp., I.B.M., and many
GSA projects. After two years at Corporate Environments, he began FMS.
During the last 13 years, FMS has supported many furniture dealerships and design firms. We use state of the art
software for design and specification and have years of industry specific project management experience to insure a
smooth project from conception to post installation issues. Our goal is “zero punch list”.
We also maintain accurate as-built drawings for future reconfigurations, additions and asset management.
